Québec's 2026–2031 health prevention plan (Unir nos forces pour mieux prévenir) commits $252.5 million to 54 measures aimed at preventable disease and health inequality. The Québec government aims to slow the growing burden of preventable conditions, including:
- diabetes
- cardiovascular disease
- certain cancers
- mental health disorders
- sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections
Preventive healthcare can identify risk factors before a disease develops or allow earlier intervention to reduce the risk of complications. The plan also seeks to reduce health inequalities and the gap in premature mortality associated with socioeconomic conditions.
