A glucometer provides a blood glucose reading at the time of your appointment. The nursing team measures your glucose, communicates the result and provides basic guidance about whether medical follow-up may be appropriate.

If your goal is to find out whether you have diabetes, ask a clinician about the appropriate assessment. A glucometer reading does not replace the laboratory testing used to diagnose diabetes.
This appointment uses a urine dipstick to check selected indicators in a urine sample. Depending on the screening performed, these may include blood or protein, glucose or ketones, acidity, urine concentration, and markers that may be associated with inflammation or infection.
The nursing team provides the applicable specimen-collection instructions. A dipstick result is one piece of information; it does not, on its own, explain every urinary symptom.
Choose this option when you need a urine dipstick screening. If you have urinary symptoms and need assessment or treatment, contact the clinic to choose the appropriate consultation.
If a physician has ordered a laboratory urine analysis or urine culture, use the private sample-collection service and have your requisition available. A rapid dipstick appointment is not the same as a laboratory urine culture.
A rapid pregnancy test checks for human chorionic gonadotropin, usually called hCG. The nursing team provides the collection instructions for the test used at the clinic, performs the screening and communicates your result.
