Initial Nutrition Consultation

‍

The first consultation explores your eating habits, health goals and nutritional needs. Mitra reviews relevant medical history, medications, previous nutrition approaches and the parts of your routine that affect how you eat.

Together, you identify priorities and develop a personalized action plan. The aim is practical guidance for your situation—not a standard diet applied to everyone.

‍

Who this appointment is for

‍

Choose the initial consultation if you are starting nutrition care with Mitra or have a new, unrelated nutrition concern that needs assessment.

‍

Reasons to consult include:

  • Weight-related goals and eating habits.
  • Nutrition support alongside care for diabetes.
  • Nutrition concerns related to cholesterol or high blood pressure.
  • Metabolic health and general nutrition goals within Mitra's scope.

‍

You do not need a diagnosis or a doctor's referral. If you are booking for a child, have a specialized nutrition concern or are unsure whether the service fits, contact the clinic before booking.

‍

What to know before booking

‍

  • The consultation costs $150 and lasts approximately one hour. The published fee applies to in-person and virtual initial consultations.
  • Bring your priorities and questions. Think about what you want help with and what makes changes difficult in everyday life.
  • Have relevant information available. This may include your medication list and existing results or recommendations you have been asked to provide. Follow the clinic's instructions for sharing documents.
  • A personalized action plan is included. If you want a structured meal plan, discuss that request with Mitra; do not assume a fixed menu or specific document is included for everyone.
  • Follow-up is based on your needs. Discuss whether another appointment is appropriate and how soon to return.
  • Other services are separate. A nutrition appointment is not the same booking as a physician-led weight-management assessment.

‍

If you have previously seen another dietitian, tell the clinic and ask which records would be useful. Previous care does not automatically qualify you for BinaMD's follow-up appointment; the clinic can confirm the appropriate starting visit.

‍

‍

Nutrition Follow-Up

‍

A follow-up reviews what has changed since your previous nutrition appointment. Discuss how the recommendations fit your daily routine, the challenges you have encountered and any new health information relevant to your plan.

The appointment may include adjustments to eating strategies, review of relevant results, answers to your questions and updated priorities for ongoing care.

‍

Who this appointment is for

‍

Choose a follow-up after an initial nutrition consultation with Mitra Bahrami or when she has recommended another visit to review your progress.

If you have not completed an initial assessment with this service, or have a new and unrelated concern, choose the initial consultation or contact the clinic for guidance.

‍

What to know before booking

‍

  • Each follow-up costs $100. Confirm its duration when booking.
  • In-person and online options are available. Choose the appropriate format with the clinic if your needs have changed.
  • Bring questions about your current plan. Explain what has been manageable and what has not.
  • Mention relevant changes. These can include changes to your health, medications, results, schedule or eating habits.
  • There is no fixed number of follow-ups. The next appointment depends on your goals and the dietitian's recommendations.
  • Results vary from person to person. A particular weight change or health outcome is not guaranteed.

‍

Follow any preparation instructions provided by the clinic. You do not need to achieve a particular result before returning to discuss your care.

Daily Calorie Estimate Tool

‍

This calculator provides a general estimate of energy needs using the information entered. It is an educational tool—not a nutrition assessment, diagnosis, prescribed calorie target or personalized meal plan.

The estimate does not account for every medical condition, medication, nutritional requirement, body-composition factor or individual goal. A dietitian can help interpret energy needs in the context of your health and daily life.

‍

Who this tool is for

‍

The tool is intended to provide general information for adults. If you need an individual nutrition recommendation, book a consultation rather than using a calculator result as your eating target.

‍

What to know before using it

‍

  • An estimate is not a prescription. Do not use the number alone to decide how much to eat for a health condition or weight-related goal.
  • It does not replace professional assessment. Your needs may differ from the estimate.
  • Special circumstances need individual advice. Do not use this general adult tool to set targets for children or during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
  • Using the tool is optional. You do not need a calorie estimate to book a nutrition appointment.
