Possible signs include:
Obstructive sleep apnea is a sleep-related breathing disorder in which the upper airway repeatedly narrows or closes during sleep. These interruptions can reduce or stop airflow, affect oxygen levels and disturb normal sleep. Snoring alone does not establish that someone has sleep apnea, and not everyone with sleep apnea snores. These symptoms can also have other causes. A medical assessment and properly interpreted sleep study are required to determine the appropriate next step.
The report may include:
WatchPAT ONE is worn on the wrist, finger and chest. Its sensors collect physiological signals during the night and generate information used in the assessment of sleep-related breathing. WatchPAT uses peripheral arterial tone and other sensor signals to estimate respiratory indices and sleep stages. These estimates are not identical to the measurements produced by laboratory polysomnography.
The service includes:
This option is for patients whose physician has already ordered an at-home sleep apnea test and will be responsible for reviewing the report. This option does not include medical evaluation by a Bina physician. Bring the medical order or prescription and any information requested by Bina. The order should identify the patient and the healthcare professional responsible for receiving the report.
The service includes
This option includes the WatchPAT ONE test and medical evaluation of the completed results through Bina. The medical evaluation considers the report together with the clinical information available to the evaluating physician. Depending on the findings, the next step may involve monitoring, treatment discussion, CPAP referral, another investigation or laboratory polysomnography.
A particular diagnosis, treatment, prescription or referral cannot be guaranteed. The test is one part of a medical assessment and should not be treated as a stand-alone result.

You use a validated at-home device (WatchPAT ONE) that calculates your AHI, total sleep time and sleep stages. Choose the option ordered by your own physician, or the option that includes a Bina medical evaluation.
Results are sent to your prescribing physician or reviewed by a Bina physician depending on the option, with a CPAP referral arranged if required.
You pick up the single-use WatchPAT ONE at the clinic with instructions, wear it for one night at home, and follow the return steps provided. The set-up appointment is about 30 minutes.
One option (CA$349) is for a test ordered by your own physician; the other (CA$599) includes a Bina medical evaluation of your results. Both use the at-home WatchPAT ONE device.
Depending on your option, results go to your prescribing physician or are reviewed by a Bina physician, and a CPAP referral is arranged if needed.
