Your first appointment begins the medical assessment for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The physician discusses your symptoms, their history and their effects on work, studies or personal life. Other factors that may explain your difficulties are also considered.
You receive questionnaires to complete before your second appointment, along with questionnaires for family members or someone who knows you well, where possible.
Choose this appointment if you are starting a new ADHD assessment. Concerns may include persistent difficulties with attention, organization, restlessness or impulsivity that affect daily functioning. These difficulties do not necessarily mean you have ADHD; the assessment helps clarify their possible causes.

The $395 fee covers the initial appointment only. Subsequent appointments are booked under ADHD and Mental Health Follow-Up and charged separately at $245 each.

Follow-up appointments support the completion of your ADHD assessment and the ongoing review of your treatment.
At your second ADHD appointment, the physician reviews your questionnaires, completes the diagnostic assessment and, when appropriate, prescribes an initial medication trial tailored to your symptoms, needs and health history. This trial helps assess effectiveness and side effects. Medication response alone does not confirm the diagnosis.
At your third appointment, often required, the physician reviews benefits and side effects, then adjusts the dose or medication if needed. If treatment is suitable, a longer prescription may be provided.
Further follow-ups may be needed if the first medication is unsuitable or additional adjustments are required.

Once treatment is stable, follow-up is planned at least annually to reassess treatment and renew prescriptions, with more frequent monitoring according to your needs.
