Yes. Ania also works with adults who may be dealing with stress, emotional regulation difficulties, major life changes, relationship or family challenges, or difficulties adapting to changes in their personal or professional lives. Psychoeducation can help adults better understand patterns affecting their day-to-day functioning and develop practical strategies for managing those challenges.
Yes. Psychoeducation can complement other forms of healthcare by focusing on practical strategies, adaptive functioning, and everyday challenges. It does not replace medical care, psychological assessment, or psychotherapy when those services are needed.
Yes. Appointments with Ania can be offered by telemedicine across Québec when appropriate for the type of support needed. This allows patients outside Brossard to access psychoeducation without necessarily coming to the clinic in person.
Yes. Ania works with children and adolescents who may be experiencing difficulties with emotional regulation, behaviour, attention, organization, adaptation, or everyday functioning at home or at school. Her professional experience includes working with children and adolescents in Montréal's school system, giving her experience with challenges that can affect a young person's learning, routines, relationships, and ability to adapt to different environments.
Psychoeducation may be appropriate when you or your child is having difficulty with emotions, behaviour, attention, organization, adaptation, or everyday functioning and would benefit from practical strategies and structured support. If the concern requires a medical diagnosis, psychological assessment, psychotherapy, or another type of specialized care, a different or additional healthcare professional may be more appropriate.
Ania Zolmajd is a psychoeducator at Bina Medical Clinic and a member of the Ordre des psychoéducateurs et psychoéducatrices du Québec (OPPQ). She holds a Master's degree in psychology for children with special needs earned in Iran and has professional experience working with adults across a range of psychological and behavioural needs. At Bina, she provides psychoeducation focused on helping patients better understand and manage challenges related to emotions, behaviour, adaptation, organization, and everyday functioning.
Psychoeducation focuses on understanding how a person is functioning in everyday life, identifying challenges with adaptation, and developing practical strategies and intervention plans to improve functioning and coping. Psychotherapy is a separately regulated form of psychological treatment in Québec and requires specific authorization to practise. Seeing a psychoeducator does not automatically mean that you are receiving psychotherapy.
